What started off as joke among my family members has now resulted in this fun song. I started imagining how all of us would react if a family member decides to contest in an election. That led to me creating a funny campaign poster. So the next logical thing to do is to have a campaign song right?
As you can guess the party symbol is “Maampazham” or Mango.
Here you go:
And don’t forget to read the Salsa – Sambar notes here.

Just completed another random piece.
As usual started off with a totally different idea and ended up with this. My original idea was an instrumental with an oriental theme. And then I shifted to another idea with some guitar melody..Then I added some humming..Then came the chords..Then came the words..Then came the idea of making it sound a little orchestral..Then I mixed it all this morning before getting ready for my work.
Here it is – presenting you the latest from KGN studios - “Naetru (Hacker Chords)”.
And after a while I have updated my ‘salsa & sambar’ blog with some notes about the making of this song. You can read it here.

Hit a stagnant period of sorts – musically speaking. Several half-hearted attempts and several rounds of disappointment later, I decided I would spend an early morning in the studio. I think that helped – at least as far as completing this piece goes.
This Sunday morning – In about 90 minutes I had this African experimental piece done. And spent another 30 minutes mastering it.
I am calling it “Afro Neram”.
Feedback/comments welcome as usual. Enjoy!

Thanks to Anna Hazare, this friend of mine (Srini) wanted to write a song to inspire others to take up the cause of anti corruption. Or at least make them think. And it so happened that a couple of other friends decided to meet us over the weekend. One thing led to the other and I decided to set tune for these lyrics. Unfortunately, my original idea of having my friends sing the song couldn’t materialize and before we knew it, they left Michigan.
So here I am – Presenting to you – “Anna Hazare” – The Anti-Corruption Anthem.

I am glad that the last couple of days were well spent in my studio. This is a piece I started working on a couple of weeks ago (On a Saturday morning - hence the name).
Coincidentally I got to finish it on a Saturday again. The piece is based on Raag Hindholam (Carnatic).

…started off with this bit that I did for a video greeting I put together…and because this video involved my son (6.5 yr old), I had to do something for my niece (4 yr old) who is visiting us. Even though the first bit may not be appreciated much till you see the video, the context for the second bit is that this girl is a very fashion conscious one..so the music I put together is a catwalk centric one.
Cheers and Happy New Year!

If you thought that the earlier post was just a funny one, No. I am sorry. ABO Man is here to stay…
Here is a quick intro/theme music I put together.
More to come soon and the identity of ABO Man will be revealed in the coming weeks.

It is not so much of me spending more time in my studio these days as of me spending more quality time with a more complete creative mind in my studio these days. Which should explain why I am already sharing one more composition here.
The piece is called “Release” – I contemplated if I should call it “Own your release”. This was one of those compositions where I had a concept from start to end and worked for it unlike most of my other work.
I will update my other blog one of these days with the concept of this song. For now the one liner is that this is a 4 minute theme underscoring a person’s struggle and how he tries to release himself to do what he wants to do eventually overcoming that struggle.
Hope you like this.

There is nip in the air. There is zip in the hair..
There is chill on the heel..Thus my musical feel!
Well. Really don’t know if this accomplishes what I wanted to. But with the seasonal change, I felt instead of going gloomy about the cold weather, how about bringing a spring like exuberance to the mood that represents a ‘frosty’ season. Hence the title.
More on the making of “Frosty Bite”can be found here.
