Earth Day

It’s not just the fuel cost that should drive people to becoming more “Earth” friendly, but it really should be the conscience. Small steps do add up and we will certainly make an impact and make this planet more livable. Car pooling, public transportation, better insulation, recycling, unplugging devices when not in use, solar power, water conservation, etc. are all some everyday acts that pay towards Earth’s future.

Apr 22 was Earth Day – To me, every day should be an Earth day. But what a disappointing Earth day it turned out to be on the political stage. As much as I hate typecasting people, it is truly the gun-toting, half-literate, old, middle America that has not seen the world beyond its 10 mile radius in its entire lifetime, which has once again proved why Hillary is more of a conservative than McCain. Democratic contest is really moving towards the toilet sink and the longer it traverses that path, the easier will be the task of Karl Roves of the Republican world to confirm another 4 years of ruining the country and the world.

Professionally, I am back on the road and am glad to establish newer business relationships along the way, although an evening in a New Jersey hotel is not as exciting as staying home under my own confines.

Dream on..

Well..I really should have posted this before I posted my “Far away” piece.
Nevertheless, here it is..a five year old song (gosh – I am getting older) that was written pretty much after the first wave of killing, in Iraq in 2003.

Dream on..

https://ganpy.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/dreamon2.mp3″

Here are the words..

Voice:

The Night falls – You may never know the difference..

You clutch your fists – And hug your loved ones..

As you crawl to the wall..

Which you think is safe..

Another Explosion!!

Dream on, Dream on – (It’s) Just another day..

Dream on, Dream on – Words that they don’t just say..

Soldiers in the River,

Mothers in a Shiver..

“Save my Child!” – “Save my Child!”

Can this can this end?

No more No more pain..

Dream on..

They gather around the city center

No one really wanna be there

Decapitate

Emaciate

They gather…(repeat)

They trample on their victory laps

Some tremble on their door steps

(This) Can’t go on! Or can it go on?

They trample (repeat)..

Dream on, Dream on – (It’s) Just another day..

Dream on, Dream on – Words that they don’t just say..

Soldiers in the River,

Mothers in a Shiver..

“Save my Child!” – “Save my Child!”

Can this can this end?

No more No more pain..

Dream on..Dream on..

Love is all you need

Dream on..Dream on..

Love is what we will give..

TZP, JW, Vaccination

I didn’t get fooled yesterday…well at least, I escaped all the pranks that normally get played on.
There are several topics I want to write about or vent my thoughts through this blog..I have to take this up as a full time profession in order to do that!

***
Taare Zameen Par – Meaning to write about this movie which I watched more than a month ago. A beautifully crafted movie with the right tone. It was a like a painting that was made to convey a central point that is more on the sombre side, but yet, was made with several other elements, objects, strokes, hues and colors that complement the central point. Aamir Khan certainly has been growing up in my opinions book as a great film personality to come out of India. Can’t say enough about Darsheel. Swamping job!

Jeremiah Wright – Well, if you are not a conservative, then you will agree with this definition of a patriot“A Patriot is a true lover of the country, who rebukes and does not excuse its sins”. I think what that 30 second clip showed to the whole world was exactly a man rebuking his country and showing his frustration on why he cannot excuse (and why others won’t excuse) for the kind of acts that his country has been involved with. And to dissect his comments in 1000 different ways, and project him as a traitor (by the way, he was an ex-marine), is an art that comes naturally to the Right-Wingists. To say that Mrs. Hillary Clinton was in some ways responsible for encouraging such acts from her campaign group, clearly underlines her “Right-Wing inclination”.

Vaccination – The debate around vaccination and “why it is good or why it isn’t,” has come back into the spotlight thanks to some kind of an autism awareness propaganda going on across media…( and yes, the US news channels do cover other news — not just election related).
I know that there are several renowned institutions that have come out rubbishing the link between vaccination and autism. Personally, I am against vaccination. 1 in 58 children in the country become autistic. What are the odds? You do the math. You do the stats…I am sure it is a no-brainer to all of us, to draw a simple conclusion that there is indeed a link. Listen to all the stories of the parents complaining, who say that it all started, right after their children got vaccinated. I won’t even try to prove which side is more accurate…but the fact is, we cannot allow such things to eradicate our species.
