Digital Age Dialogue

(This very well can be a real conversation today between 2 people. I am sure most of us understand every word of this, even if it is taken out of context..Isn’t it amazing? We wouldn’t have understood more than 75% of the conversation even 10 years ago. This post is pretty much based of what I heard in NPR morning edition this morning..Not exactly word by word. I have taken the liberty of modifying the sequence here and there. )

Me: You on Youtube?
He: No on Hulu.. You?
Me: Checking my iTunes..Too bad that my mp3 wouldn’t play on it b’cos I lost my USB..
He: MIA? So is my GPS..
Me: Ha..Too bad. BTW, did you get the PDF I sent you on gmail?
He: No. I can’t open it..on my Blackberry..
Me: Is it a Cookie thing..?
He: No. Can’t be – I checked the Wiki..and even googled & binged for it..
Me: Check with your ISP if you are using your home modem..
He: I feel it is a virus on my winzip..
Me: Wait…I have to respond to this SMS..
He: No problem – I can run my anti-spam program while I wait
Me: It was my mom..who poked me on FB and I got a Tweet alert on my PDA
He: Did she ever sell her laptop?
Me: You mean her iMac?
He: yes..she had it on eBay right?
Me: Yes. But she does not like she took it off eBay and sold it on Amazon!

Besides fantasizing about being a Peter Gibbons at least for a couple of days at my work, I think I have a long way to go to realize some of the other fantasies. But like any ambitious man out there, I will get there! Note: All views expressed in this blog are mine alone and have got nothing to do with my company Cogent IBS, Inc., its employees or any of its affiliates.
