After affectionately interacting (with you), (I) roamed around aimlessly,
Only to come back (to you) to be swooned by your fragrance.
In spite of that, if all of yesterday’s happenings
would still stick out in your mind,
all the pleasure we derived (from this relationship) becomes
immaterial like detached love. (or loveless love).

Besides fantasizing about being a Peter Gibbons at least for a couple of days at my work, I think I have a long way to go to realize some of the other fantasies. But like any ambitious man out there, I will get there! 1.

  2. Hi!Did u write this poem ? Amazing!..pure Tamil..feels more like ancient tamil literatures like aganaanuru, kuravanji…etc..I am not very good in Tamil literature, but I see that its awesome!.. Sharmila..

    1. Thank you. I used to enjoy writing Thamizh poems when I was in school..But then as you can imagine, because of several reasons, I have lost touch with that habit. It is very difficult if you are not in the right environment. Since I am not a natural poet, these days it’s a word sometimes but at most times it’s a line that inspires me to come up with something. And yes, it is becoming more and more difficult to do that for me in Thamizh. But Venni (my brother) is really an inspiration for me these days for Thamizh poems..I don’t know if you have been to his blog. But here is a sample:
